If you’re getting tired of your home but are not ready to make a move, follow these ten easy suggestions and before you know it, your old house will feel like a new one again! The first thing you can do is to repaint your front door and the trim around your front windows. You will probably only need one can of paint to do the job and after it’s done, your house will look completely different even though you haven’t changed much! The second thing you can do to spruce up your home and make it look brand new again is to pressure wash your driveway, entryway and any decks, patios or porches you may have.

This takes a lot less effort than completely repaving and it is sure to make your pavement looks years younger. As for the interior of your house, paint is once again your ally. Rather than repaint an entire room to spruce it up, try just repainting one wall a different color. By creating an accent wall this way, the room will immediately look and feel completely different. The fourth idea for reinvigorating your home is to rearrange your furniture. This simple idea can go a long way towards making your rooms feel like new again.

Fifth, if you have old kitchen cabinets that are still in good condition but are showing their age or you just need a change, don’t replace them! All you have to do is remove the cabinet doors and remove any hardware on the doors. If the doors were painted, you can strip the paint and apply a fresh coat or you can refinish them. Or simply replace the doors with new ones. Replacing just the cabinet doors is much less of a hassle than replacing cabinets in their entirety. As an added bonus, you can replace your old hardware with new hardware. Something as simple as new drawer pulls can really make a difference. Next head into your bathroom where you can implement step number six. Replace your shower curtain. Chances are your shower curtain is old and may have mildew on it. Treat yourself to a new one and immediately add a new look to your bathroom in the process.

Finally, rather than replacing old furniture, consider buying or making slipcovers for your couches. If your couches are in good condition or you don't want to cover them, consider purchasing new throw pillows for them. The extra splash of color that the pillows can provide will be sure to brighten up your room. It’s also fairly simple to update chairs around your dining table. Simply remove the old fabric from the seats then purchase and staple down new fabric. In no time your dining set will look like it’s brand new. Using some or all of these suggestions will make your home look and feel like the day you moved in. And the best part is that they don’t take a lot of time to do and you can probably do them all yourself!
